Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American actor and musician from the United States who made her name with witty lyrics that explored racial and sexual identity with a boldly comic perspective. Her career then grew into Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Korean immigrants living in Forest Hills Queens. Her initial exposure to music stemmed from the trumpet. Later, she began traditional and hip-hop training. At college, she concentrated on her studies, majoring in both journalism and women's issues. for a brief amount that was spent in Beijing as well, she was also studying Mandarin. It wasn't until she began focusing on music until she graduated. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success on the Internet eventually landing on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album featured other hit songs that went viral, such as the body positive Queef and a winking, hometown tour NYC Bitche$. It was also included in Awkwafina's NYC travel guide, published in 2015. The singer decided to pursue acting career after completing her first two projects, as an author and musician. Her film credits include films including Neighbors 2 Storks, and Bad Rap. She had a breakthrough role during the year 2018, appearing in a handful of movies that were highly regarded, such as Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
